How do I import my connections from TablePlus?
Choose File › Import from TablePlus… and pick the folder ~/Library/Application Support/com.tinyapp.TablePlus/Data. The Library folder is hidden, so press ⇧⌘G in the dialog and paste the path.
Tabel brings over names, hosts, users, databases, SSH settings, groups, colours and environment tags. Passwords stay in TablePlus' keychain, so Tabel asks for each one once.
You can also paste a URL: postgresql://…, sqlite:///… or a postgresql+ssh:// URL copied from TablePlus.
How do I use an SSH key?
Turn on the SSH tunnel for the connection and choose your private key, for example ~/.ssh/id_ed25519. You pick the file once and Tabel remembers it. The .ssh folder is hidden – press ⇧⌘. in the dialog to show it.
Tabel supports ed25519, ECDSA and RSA keys. If the key has a passphrase, you can save it in the Keychain. You can also sign in with a password.
The first time you connect, Tabel shows the server's SHA256 fingerprint so you can check it is the right server. If the fingerprint changes later, Tabel warns you.
Why does Tabel ask for access to the folder with my SQLite file?
Tabel runs in Apple's App Sandbox and can only touch files you pick. SQLite writes journal files (such as -wal and -journal) next to the database, so Tabel asks once for access to the folder. It doesn't read the other files in it.
